1. What kind of student most benefits from a school like yours?

Students with a true passion for the arts, who have the talent, determination and drive to succeed are the ones that benefit the most by attending Idyllwild Arts.

2. What do you think draws most students to look at and consider your school?

Most students are drawn to Idyllwild Arts because of the arts training. Here a student is able to really focus on his or her art at a pre-professional level.

3. What prompts most of their parents to consider your school?

Parents are drawn to our school because we provide an opportunity for their child to grow and further their arts studies but also because we have a full, college preparatory academic curriculum so they know their child will receive a well-rounded education.

4. What percentage of your students receives some sort of financial aid?

Approximately 50% of our students are on some form of financial aid.

5. If I were an intellectually talented student with a strong academic record and my public high school offered an honors program and had a solid college placement track record, why should I still consider attending your school?

Here at Idyllwild Arts we encourage you to grow and expand your horizons. With our full arts and academic programs, you will receive a unique training that will stand out with most colleges as well as serve you well in the future.

6. If I were a student of above average academic ability earning mostly B’s in middle school, would I fit in at your school?

Absolutely. Our students come from many different backgrounds and abilities. Here we encourage you to perform to the best of your abilities and help you grow with making choices about your future.

7. What mechanisms are in place to ensure the health and welfare of your students, particularly if they are boarding students living away from home?

We have a full dorm parent team that lives with our students in the dorms. They are fully supervised by this staff as well as our tremendous student services team.

8. Are there any aspects of your school that you would assume most people don’t know, but should know, about your school?

We have an excellent reputation in the arts and train our students for success. A common misconception is that when a child enrolls at Idyllwild Arts, they will not receive an academic education. Our students must meet the requirements for entrance into the University of California system in order to graduate from Idyllwild Arts. We truly offer a unique, well-rounded education.

9. In looking back at their experiences at your school, what would most graduates be likely to say were the best parts?

The support of their teachers, their experience and training in the arts, and the wonderful community they were a part of. It is very common that our students return year after year to say hi, watch a performance, attend the graduation ceremonies, or simply just return to spend a day reliving their experience here. We are a school that is missed when students leave us.
